General program updates as well as the basics and claims impact of:  PQRS, E-RX, Meaningful use, expansion of the multiple procedure reduction and more.

10:15am– 11:30am 2012 CPT Updates
The bundling of codes continues.  2012 brings a bundled approach to many of our EP device procedures, as well as a frequently performed peripheral diagnostic procedure.  We’ll review CPT changes impacting cardiology.

11:30am-12:30pm Lunch

12:30pm – 1:30pm Cardiology’s Most Common Coding Errors
The “Era of Enforcement” and data analysis is here.  What are some of the most common problem areas?  We’ll review proper use of common modifiers, documentation and billing for midlevel services, and what the new EP specialty designation really means to claims submission.  These are just a few of the frequent problem areas, we’ll go on a whirl wind tour of some of cardiology coding top errors and misconceptions.

1:45pm – 4:00pm ICD-10-CM Awareness
Implementation is almo0st two years away.  What is all the fuss about and why do we need to be talking about it now?  How is ICD-10 CM different from ICD-9?  What should providers being doing now to help ensure a successful transition and what are some of the key elements of an implementation plan?

Now that you’ve had an overview – you’ll be ready to talk more specifics and we’ll examine a few of the top conditions treated by cardiology and compare and contrast ICD-9 to ICD-10-CM coding.

All cancellations and requests for refunds must be in writing and received by fax (504-841-0572) no later than Wednesday, November 30, 2011. A handling fee of $10.00 will be deducted from each cancellation registration received by credit card. No refunds will be given after November 30, 2011.
