Poster Competition Guidelines

IMPORTANT DATES Friday, August 1, 2008   Deadline for abstracts Friday, August 8, 2008   Notification of acceptance Friday, October 3, 2008  Poster set up at The Ritz Carlton (Room TBA) 1:00-4:30pm Friday, October 3, 2008   Welcome Recption & Judging 5:00pm-6:30pm Saturday, October 4, 2008    Winners announced at LA-ACC Annual Meeting

Guidelines

• Abstracts may be submitted electronically only– no faxed or mailed abstract will be accepted
• Abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of cardiologists on the basis of originality, clinical interest/importance, scientific content/quality
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners are awarded cash stipends. Winners will be announced at the LA-ACC Annual Meeting on 10/4/08.
• Fellows in Training from the Louisiana Chapter are encouraged to participate in the Poster Competition
• Only one abstract per person may be submitted
• Abstracts should be one page, using 10 point type, Times New Roman font, single spaced, and a maximum of 200 words  
• Edit carefully and check for errors
• Abstracts should include:
  • A brief title which clearly indicates the nature of the investigation
  • Complete names of authors
  • The purpose of the study
  • A statement of the conclusion reached
  • Simple tables or graphs may be included
